Within our firm, we have talented and dedicated professionals who provide quality global provision services in many industries. Our services include best practice provision process reengineering and software implementations for federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions along with technical assistance and advisory services. We also offer a nationally syndicated FAS 109 Accounting for Income Taxes training course to management level professionals in industry and various service/software firms. Atlas offers global coordination services which encompass all tax life cycles including provision reporting, compliance, audit, and planning services.
We currently have a career opportunity for a Director of Tax Reporting to take the lead on various client engagements. Our people work on key client issues in global reporting with a focus on implementing income tax reporting strategies that align with the client's business objectives.
Responsibilities
Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations.
Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business.
Help to develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.
Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on regulatory changes, trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations. Develop process maps and data management models. Document tax processes.
Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.
Lead provision reengineering and provision system implementations and process change initiatives.
Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of Atlas Service Link methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
• a master’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in taxation
• a minimum of seven years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry
• CPA certification preferred
• broad exposure to federal, state and international income taxation
• excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
• proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability
• strong written and verbal communication skills
• a commitment to learning in a tax process and technology driven environment
• proficiency in process mapping and documentation
