Description
We currently have a career opportunity for a Manager. The position is a client service facing professional with a focus on tax process reengineering and technology optimization. You will be using leading technologies and working with highly experienced team-oriented colleagues.
Responsibilities
• Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations.
• Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business.
• Help to develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.
• Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations.
• Develop process maps and data management models; document tax processes.
• Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.
• Lead tax system and process change initiatives; serve as Finance and IT liaison / representation for the Tax Department; develop detailed functional and technical tax requirements.
• Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of Atlas Service Link methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
• a bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field (an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable)
• a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry
• experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP and PeopleSoft
• experience with consolidation financial systems such as Oracle HFM/FDM (Hyperion)
• experience with tax systems such as CORPTAX, TaxStream and InSource
• CPA certification and/or Masters program preferred
• broad exposure to federal, state and international income taxation
• excellent managerial, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
• proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability
